AMG doesn't have an entry on this volume (and, swear, artwork will be coming along eventually!), but a lot of these tracks are previously unreleased.

Notes: Cicadelic/Collectables is the Great Little Label that Could, showing a willingness to release the sort of garage-compilation material that you couldn't imagine surfacing on snootier labels like Sundazed and Rhino. A multi-disc collection focusing on super-obscure Texas psychedelic music, in other words, is right up their alley. Alternate takes? Demos? Echoey live cuts? You betcha. It's astonishing how well some of these groups are documented.

Like most Collectables comps from around this period (think the "Neighborhood" series, and the "Cicadelic 60s" series itself), quality and musicality varies wildly--lots of this is for collectors only. The series also seems to be out of print, complicating matters slightly. Thankfully, the Internet liberates you from the dilemma of deciding whether this is worth an expenditure.
