      The second volume from Crypt Records' Back From the Grave series digs up more stylish, underground garage rock from '60s groups like Murphy & the Mob, the Fabs, the Hallmarks, and the Sloths. Red Beard & the Pirates' "Go On, Leave" is among the many high points on this uncompromising, entertaining garage sampler.
      The first volume was great, but this is oddly enough even better, making the series the best there is for raw and primal garage punk. Once again Crypt compiles the best should've-been-a-hit-wonders from their obviously massive library. Unlike many other similar compilations, Crypt doesn't merely throw a bunch of songs together and put it on the market. They seem to go through their collection, and pick only the best garage rock pounders. For bands that were, well, ameteur teens releasing sole 45s on indie labels, they are incredibly catchy. It's a lot better than that "I Got You Babe" dreck that was scaling the charts at the time. Honestly, "You Can't Blame That on Me" and "Wild Man" should've been freaking anthems! Makes me wish rock 'n' roll was as fun as it used to be, kudos to Tim Warren and the other garage-philes on Crypt Records for bringing us only the best. Simply De puta madre.
