I don't know, man, it's more like you can't have everything perfect.
I've been spinning the Psychedelic Voyage CD in my car for a week
straight and wasn't even aware that the sound was so-so. Once you
brought it up, I went and played it on my home stereo, compared Flower
Travelling Band's "Satori" to the version on Psychedelic Unknowns 11, and
found that the disc does indeed have a little muddiness. I wouldn't say
awful, it's just not up to par with the higher standards we expect in
      this digital age.
Musicwise this is a great disc, and any open minded listener who gets
their hands on a copy does win out. There's a full range of sounds here,
much of which has those late 60's production qualities us psych
collectors love. The Flower Travelling Band deliver the heaviest sounds
on the disc, and in the case of Satori Part 1, maybe a little too much
so. The other 25 songs shine, and should bring out bright smiles from
      within.
I don't know how the sound was on the lps, but considering they would
both cost you over 40 bucks, if you could find both of them (Bomp has
vol. 2), the CD is a smart purchase even at $20.
I recommend this over any of the better sounding Arf Arf psych comps.
Don't let sound quality (which is not that bad) let you miss out on this
      one.
