Electric Food -1970 - Electric Food & Flash (2004 Mason)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Artist: Electric Food Album: Electric Food & Flash Released: 1970 2004 Mason (MR 56424) Genre: Heavy Prog/Rock/Psych
Both 1970 albums by the German heavy prog/rock/psych expolitation band on 1 CD. This band featured band members who were later to form Lucifer's Friend and the albums have a sound somewhere between late 60's heavy rock and psychedelia. Includes covers of classics by Free and Led Zep as well as keyboard and guitar heavy originals.
It's got lots of energy, a killer vibe, and all the band members are in synch with each other. The only real downside is that the vocalist really muffs up the lyrics in the cover tunes. Words get half said/sung, or in some cases, he somehow manages to sing them while mumbling (especially in "House of the Rising Sun"). Granted, English is not his first language, but they should have at least handed him a lyric sheet to go off of while recording these two albums. Fortunately, this winds up being just a small complaint since as I said before, they've got a whole lot of energy. That can and does make up for a lot.
