      From foxydigitalis.com: "So, the obvious must be said: Mandy More is not Mandy Moore. This Mandy More is an English chanteuse from the early 1970s who does positively groovy, positively gorgeous renditions of her own songs, as well as the Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows.” “But That Is Me” is a two-CD set of her debut record, along with 5 non-LP single sides and a second disc that contains alternative takes and demos. Maybe the second disc is a bit much, but it’s still there, for fans and the intrigued.

      Her lyrics are awesome. A sample from “Matthew Brought Me Flowers”: “What time of day does the scene change? / I’ve got no inclination / What time of day do my thoughts change? / I’ve got no explanation.” Other stands outs are “I’m Too Tall to Cry” and “Alone In My Yellow.” This CD will appeal to a certain segment of the population who likes their sadness abstract and pretty. The harmonies are otherworldly and echo-y, with lots of back and forth singing by Mandy More to herself. The dynamics are pretty sweet as well, with lots of manipulation of volume to intro the songs. Overall, this is well worth the wait and it’s a pleasure to see it out on CD. 8/10 -- Shannon Smith"
