The third installment in our series on the music by Czeslaw Niemen is his second LP, originally published in 1968.
After hugely popular first album, the title of the second one, "Sukces" ("Success") was quite justified :). However, the song bearing this title refers to a completely different kind of a success ("...success, for many people it is a fortune, but for me, above everything, my love, my success, it is You"). So, let's just say it is a word play...
On this album you can clearly hear Niemen's fascination with American soul music, which he was experiencing at that time. I have to admit that his voice and vocal style is well suited to this kind of music. But besides the soul music there are some other influences present, including folk, traditional Russian ballads and Oriental music. All this make this album quite interesting and no wonder that it was another "success" for the artist :).
